About the Staff

Helen HawesHelen Hawes, M.F.A., has been a practicing artist for 35 years and has 30 years of teaching experience. She is a certified Focusing Trainer, and Reiki Master. She is the curator of the collections of two large corporations and has worked as a consultant and trainer for businesses and individuals using “art making” sessions to establish new approaches to problem solving. Her own works are hanging in over 200 private and corporate collections in the greater Boston area. She offers workshops to facilitate personal growth. She lives at the retreat center, and is pursuing an advanced degree in the sacred doing of nothing. For information about private sessions, call Helen at 802 254 6881.

Helen HawesSince 1998, Gena Corea, certified by the Focusing Institute of New York, has faciliated Focusing and other inner growth workshops for men serving long terms in a New England prison. At this prison in 2000, she originated the now-annual Thanksgiving “Table in the Clearing.” This is a practice in which prisoners and guests welcome home exiled parts of the self. RheaRhea Nowak received her BA from Bennington College in Printmaking and Painting, her MFA from the University of Connecticut in Printmaking and Drawing, and a Master Printer Certificate from Il Bisonte an international school of printmaking in Florence Italy. After teaching in Connecticut for a number of years she joined the Art Department faculty at SUNY College at Oneonta in the fall of 2007 where she teaches foundations and printmaking. Her prints, mixed media drawings and unique books have been exhibited in juried and solo shows in both the U.S. and Europe. Her work involves ideas of continuity, chance, and change.
