I have worked on Pat Rigg’s website. This was my process:

I want the color from the header and from the business card part that says, “Patricia Riggs, LICSW.”

7/4/12
Open Illustrator file of the business card. The color of “Patricia” on the business card for web viewing is #009933.

Open Dreamweaver.

Open googleDocs.
I am working on integrating the information for the Resources and Links page.
This is a work in progress for making the content dynamic.

This is the bookmark design of our first promotion:

Here is a screenshot of the current site set up for the promotion so that folks could enter the promo code “MOMDADGRAD” as directed on the bookmark design above into the web page as they order their, ideally, treasured, Blue Sky Day.

Open Dreamweaver.
Our last web update was 5/21/12. I name the file folder of the updates as I update them with the date. For example “05-21-12″ was the name of the folder where the last website updates exist. Today is 7/1/12. I will duplicate the file folder named “05-21-12″ and rename that folder “07-01-12″. This give me an archive of my updates in case I need to refer back at any time. Okay, right click on the folder, select duplicate, rename; that’s done. I am reviewing what I did last. http://itsablueskyday.com/index05-11-12.html has the code for the button I want which brings us to a page that includes tax from Vermont of 6% and shipping. Otherwise, we need to eat all these costs plus the print price. Little is left. That’s a different topic. Okay, the code I need is in the file from 05-11-12. I also want to create a file named index07-01-12.html for potential future reference.

I updated the slideshow to keep the current slideshow. I am reminded of Kara’s suggestion to slow down the pace of the slides. I don’t think it’s important right this instant, but I do want to learn how to adjust. This is the code to embed the slideshow:

I want to keep the facebook like button piece. This is that piece of code:
<tr>
<td bgcolor=”#FFFFFF” height=”62″>
<iframe src=”http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FBlueSkyDayJournal&amp;width=292&amp;height=62&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;show_faces=false&amp;border_color&amp;stream=false&amp;header=false” scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ style=”border:none; overflow:hidden; width:292px; height:62px;” allowTransparency=”false”></iframe>   </td>
</tr>

Log into paypal.
I am contacting PayPal customer service at 1-888-221-1161.
I want to set up a profile button properly.

Clarify my weights.
Clarify my shipping costs.
Update paypal shipping calculations profile for domestics when you have the above information.

I created a custom paypal checkout with a banner. The size of the banner is: 190X60. I created a 190X60 banner. I need to pull it over to the server space. Here is what it looks like:

http://itsablueskyday.com/images/paypal/itablueskyday190X60.jpg is where the re-sized banner is located on the server space. I need to enter this URL into my paypal account in the field named “Logo Image URL:”
Here are my after screenshots:

Bookmark design and artwork prep for TARA’s Symmagery Design yoga mats

This is my first post. Let’s start blogging!

This afternoon I am intending to prepare artwork for print. The final piece will be a variety pack of 200 bookmarks for my client, Tara Gordon, Artist and Owner of Symmagery Design.

I am working in Adobe InDesign to layout the double sided bookmarks requested.

The time is 2:53 p.m.
The patterns are titled for now as follows:
1. BLUE HYACYNTH – 1 side done, 1 side to go
2. BIRDS of PARADISE
3. FERN
4. SUNFLOWER
5. SUNSET DAHLIA
I am going to move forward by opening Adobe Photoshop.
Open 4 other patterns, provided by client, in Photoshop.
Rotate, flatten artwork, save as PDF for placement in InDesign.
Rename:
BIRD-of-paradise-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
FERN-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
SUNFLOWER-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
SUNSET-Dahlia-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf

5 pages are laid out, 10-up in InDesign. What this does is allows the printer to print 10 bookmarks per sheet. The bookmarks are 7.5X2.25 including bleed.

What is my next step?
Side 2 needs to be refined. Tara sketched what she would like. One side of 5 patterns is laid out. The other side needs attention. Okay, I am going to duplicate the above, side 1 files, and re-name side 2 as follows:
infoBLUEhyacynth-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
infoBIRD-of-paradise-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
infoFERN-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
infoSUNFLOWER-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
infoSUNSET-Dahlia-promo-tag-bookmark-to-go-with-Symmagery-yogaMats2012.pdf
Duplicate 75% transparent white into the other 4 files from the Blue Hyacynth file.

Gather the info side elements.
I am working on side two. Here is the so far:

I wonder if it makes more sense to create a pdf with 10up, patterns, 2 per page, or 5 page of 1 pattern. I am going to create one more page.

Open InDesign.
I will upload the so far and await the client’s guidance.

I met with Tara at Blue Moose cafe’ this morning to clarify her vision.
She provided another sketch in Photoshop and a QR code to her facebook page.
I downloaded vector artwork of “facebook” icon logo to be crisp and clean on print piece.

I want to reopen the InDesign file that show how wide each of 3 columns is. The three columns are all 2.25 inches wide by So far it looks like this:

1:04 p.m.

I like the way it has turned out!

7/1/12

Today, I will burn a DVD of the layered source file of the bookmark design. This will enable Tara to design a matching evolving flier to promote the yoga mats.
